MILES TO SHARE (A CHARITY RUN FOR CANCER PATIENTS IN EAST JAVA, INDONESIA)

Hi there, I am Kamil, 32 years old.
I was diagnosed with fibrosarcoma (connective tissue cancer) in multiple areas on my body. I underwent 5 surgeries in the last 10 years (4 tumor removal surgeries and 1 complication infection surgery). Last year, my Diaphragma, the main muscle for breathing, was replaced with an artificial one because part of it became tumorous. A small part of my left lung has also been removed. A few parts of my spine and the surrounding muscles on the neck and chest area have also been removed. A titanium plate was inserted for additional support.
I am very grateful to have a very supporting family, which together with my medical professional background, has allowed me to make the most out of my cancer treatment. I have been very lucky to be able to overcome my difficulties until now.
My experience has made me realize that not all cancer patients and cancer survivors are as lucky as I am. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with a fully supportive family, has easy access to health facilities or financial support.
On 18th November 2018 I will be running in a Full Marathon class (42,195 KM) in the Borobudur Marathon. This will be my second FM, but it will be my first full marathon after my diaphragm and lung tumor removal and installation of titanium plate for my neck support.
I am definitely very excited about this. We, cancer survivors will beat our illness/condition.
You can be part of this too, by donating to cancer patients and cancer survivors in their battle fighting cancer.
100% of the donations collected will be used to support the foster house of Yayasan Kanker Indonesia, East Java branch. This foster house facilitates cancer patients from other cities and other islands throughout Indonesia.
This might not help much, but I believe #milestoshare will definitely give impact to our healing process.
Warm greetings,
Kamil
